Strapping & Labelling
Carton-level compliance for destination markets
Per-carton barcode labelling, shipping marks, destination-specific labelling (Amazon FBA, EU CE labels, US compliance marks).
Strapping and labelling are the carton-level compliance work that determines whether your shipment is accepted or rejected at the destination retailer. Walmart, Costco, Target, Amazon FC, Tesco, IKEA — each has specific carton labelling, barcode placement, and strapping requirements. Miss the spec and your cartons get held / rejected / charge-backed.
WCL operates carton-level labelling at every WCL hub — per-carton barcode validation, shipping marks per buyer spec, destination-specific compliance marks (Amazon FBA, EU CE, US FDA, GS1 barcode standards), and steel/plastic strapping for outer pallet and individual heavy cartons.
Particular depth in Amazon FBA (every FBA carton has 5+ specific label requirements), EU CE-marking labelling for electrical / toy / construction products, US CPSIA compliance for children's products, and FDA labelling for food/cosmetics/medical devices.
Everything we cover for Strapping & Labelling
Our process — step by step
Spec collection from buyer
Buyer's labelling and strapping spec collected — carton dimensions, label placement (face A / B / C), barcode type, retailer SKU, color code, size, location code.
Label printing
Labels printed on industrial label printers (Zebra ZT411 or similar) on the right substrate — thermal transfer for indoor, polypropylene for cold storage, waterproof for outdoor.
Carton-level application
Each carton labelled per spec. Barcode scan-tested. Misprints rejected and reprinted.
Strapping
Steel banding for heavy cartons (>30 kg) or palletised outer cartons. Plastic strapping for inner carton bundling. Tension calibrated to avoid carton crushing.
Quality check & dispatch
Random sample of labelled cartons scan-tested for barcode legibility, label adhesion, strap tension. Photo evidence pack handed to you with the dispatch document.

What we'll typically need
Questions clients ask us about Strapping & Labelling
Can you handle Amazon FBA labelling?
Yes — FBA cartons need: FNSKU label per item, master carton label per shipment ID, brand label, BOL placement. We label per Amazon's current spec and validate by scan-testing before dispatch.
What about EU CE marking?
We apply the CE mark sticker + traceability label on each carton for products that have a CE Declaration of Conformity. The CE mark itself must be on the product (not just the carton); we provide carton-level support.
What barcode formats do you support?
GS1 standard — EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code-128, GS1-128 (for logistics labels), GS1 DataMatrix (2D). For Amazon FBA: FNSKU + ASIN labels per Amazon spec.
What strapping is needed for sea export?
For most cargo: 2 vertical + 2 horizontal plastic straps per outer carton, plus 2 steel bands per palletised stack. For heavy cargo (>30 kg per carton): all steel banding. Tension calibrated per carton stiffness.
