Who needs Plastic Packaging EPR?
Any producer, importer, or brand-owner who puts plastic packaging on the market — FMCG, beverages, food, cosmetics, e-commerce, retail packaging. Even small brands above a threshold must register.
What's the EPR target?
Depends on the category. Plastic packaging: typically 50-100% of put-on-market by 2025-26. E-waste: 60-95% by category and year. Battery: 90-100% collection by 2030. The percentage rises annually under the regulations.
What happens if I don't get EPR?
Customs blocks imports of regulated products (electronics, batteries). SPCB / CPCB issues notices, penalties, and possible business closure under the Environment Protection Act. EPR is non-negotiable for affected categories.
