Terms and Conditions

1. Services
World Cargo Logistics ("WCL") provides customs clearance, freight forwarding, DGFT consultancy, sourcing, warehousing and related logistics services to businesses in India and globally. Specific service terms are agreed in writing for each engagement.
2. Standard trading conditions
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, all freight-forwarding and customs work undertaken by WCL is subject to the FFFAI Standard Trading Conditions (latest version), which form part of every engagement. A copy is available on request.
Air freight movements are additionally subject to the IATA Conditions of Contract, the Warsaw Convention 1929 and/or the Montreal Convention 1999, whichever applies to the carriage in question. Liability ceilings under those conventions apply unless declared value for carriage is agreed in writing and the applicable surcharge paid.
Sea freight movements are subject to the Hague-Visby Rules, the relevant carrier's bill of lading terms, and Indian maritime law.
3. Quotations
Quotations are valid for 7 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated. Rates may change due to currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges (BAF/EBS/CAF), government levies, port congestion, equipment imbalance, peak-season surcharges (PSS) or other factors outside our control. Final invoiced rates may differ from the quoted rates where any of these factors moved between quotation and execution.
4. Customer obligations
You agree to provide complete and accurate shipment information including correct HS classification, accurate commercial values, valid licences (IEC, scheme authorisations, regulatory certificates), and timely document submission. WCL relies on the information you provide and is not liable for customs delays, fines or penalties arising from inaccurate or incomplete information.
5. Liability
Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of services we have provided for the specific consignment, subject to the FFFAI Standard Trading Conditions and applicable maritime / aviation conventions. We strongly recommend separate marine or air cargo insurance for high-value shipments — carrier liability limits under the Hague-Visby Rules, Warsaw Convention or Montreal Convention are significantly lower than the typical commercial value of cargo.
WCL is not liable for any indirect, consequential or loss-of-profit claims, however arising.
6. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control — port strikes, customs delays, government action, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, pandemic, cyber attack, sanctions, route closures or carrier insolvency.
7. Payment
Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within 7 days. Overdue amounts attract interest at 18% per annum or the maximum permitted by Indian law, whichever is lower. WCL reserves the right to exercise a general lien over cargo for unpaid invoices on any of your shipments, past or current.
8. Use of this website and free tools
The HS Code Finder, CBM Calculator, Air Freight Calculator, Road Freight Calculator, Unit Converter, Incoterms reference and any other tools offered on this website are provided for general guidance and indicative purposes only. They reflect public information at the time of build and may not capture recent notifications, FTA amendments, state-specific rules, port-specific levies, or carrier-specific surcharges. The figures and classifications produced are not binding on WCL, customs authorities, carriers, or any third party.
You should not rely on the tools alone for binding decisions about classification, licensing, freight rates, vehicle suitability or shipment planning. Engage WCL or another competent professional for shipment-specific advice. WCL accepts no liability for any loss, cost or penalty arising from sole reliance on tool output.
9. Intellectual property
The content, design, branding, datasets, and tools on this website are owned by or licensed to WCL. You may use the tools for your own commercial and personal trade decisions, but large-scale scraping, redistribution, white-labelling or competitive reuse without written permission is prohibited.
10. Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Indian law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, India.
